SELLER’S SCOPE OF SUPPLY
A: IMPORTED EQUIPMENT:
NOTE:
Fuel Consumption & Stainless Steel After-cooler Core:
Well theoretically our competitors are showing slightly lower fuel consumption at ISO conditions for the
offered model. Please note that from engineering point of view higher compression ratio means high
overhaul costs which is camouflaged at the moment. The most important point is that slightly lower fuel
consumption remains for few thousand hrs when engines are new and under warranty, once after cooler
core is reacted by sulphur present in Natural gas then fuel consumption will increase. On average basis
the competitors core will damaged after two year of operation due to sulphur content and to extend the
life of core and ease of operation they have to increase mixture ratio and customer has to compromise as
they are not offering Stainless Steel Core. Caterpillar gensets are now equipped with Stainless Steel
aftercooler core which is the ultimate solution to cope with the adverse effects of H2S in supplied Gas
and our fuel consumption will remains the same.

GASEOUS FUEL CHARACTERISTICS
DRY PIPELIE NATURAL GAS APPLICATION
1 - Temperature
Maximum allowable 600C
Minimum allowable 100C
At low temperatures, hydrocarbon fuels may condense and enter the engine. Liquids
are never permitted in the fuel. If liquids are present, the customer must remove them
by increasing the fuel temperature or by a coalescing filter, or by other means. Serious
engine damage will result if liquids are allowed into the engine.
2 - Water Contents
Saturated fuel is acceptable; however, water condensation in the fuel lines or engine is
not acceptable. It is therefore, recommended to limit the relative humidity to 80 percent
at the minimum fuel operating temperature.
3 - Heating Value & Methane #
The engine would be able to burn gaseous having LHV in the range of 800 – 1425
Btu/ft3 and having Methane # of 80+. Please check the available rating at your gas
composition.
4 - Allowable Limits
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description Max. Limits
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sulfur Compounds μg/Btu 0.45
as H2S(1) mg /Btu 0.43
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Halide Compounds μg CI/Btu 0
as CI mg CI/MJ 0
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oil Content μg /Btu 1.25
as CI mg/MJ 1.19
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Particulates in Fuel μg /Btu 0.84
mg/MJ 0.80
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Particulate Size in Fuel microns 1
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Allied Engineering & Services Ltd.
Note:
1 - 0.45 ug/Btu is approximately 10 ppmv of H2S at LHV of 905 Btu/ft3.
The allowable limit would be different if LHV is different than 905 Btu/ft3.
Example
If LHV is reduced to 887 Btu/ft3, the allowable limit of H2S shall be
10 x 887 = 9.80 ppmv
905
Hence, with the decrease of LHV the allowable H2S limit also decreases.
2 - Total particulate level must include inorganic silicon. Limit shown for silicon must
account for the total organic (siloxanes, etc.) and inorganic silicon content.
